Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri was built by the third Mugal Emperor, Jalal-ud-din Mohammed, popularly known as ‘Akbar’ near the cave where the Sufi saint Salim Chisti lived as a hermit. Salim Chisti foretold the birth of Akbar’s son, who was named Salim after the saint. This son later became Mughal Emperor under the name Nur-ud-din Mohammad Jehan Gir.
