God works in mysterious ways. We have to understand him first, though he is beyond all our imaginations we should listen the voice of God within ourselves. We should study him well, and we should understand this universal truth that God doesn’t give his blessings directly. He forms opportunity. Let me explain. If one prays for patience, do you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? Take Prophet Job (Ayyub AS) prayed for patience when God stripped him of all his possessions and health he said :
“What God has taken away from me belongs to Him. I was only its trustee for a while. He gives to whom He wills and withholds from whom He wills”
Understood? An opportunity to be patient.
If they pray for loyalty, does God give them loyalty, or does he give them opportunities to be loyal? Take the story of Mary (Maryam AS). She was informed by Angel Gabriel (Jibreel AS) that she will give a birth to a noble son, could not fully comprehend or interpret the meaning of this news. But soon she found out that she was pregnant. This astonished her because she had never been touched by a man. This obviously upset her greatly and to avoid any embarrassment she withdrew from her family and the public’s eye and went to a place east of Jerusalem. She gave birth to her son and God asked her to go back to Jerusalem, she never questioned his supremacy. Since she was widely considered to be a pure and pious woman and though this could have caused Maryam some agony she went to Jerusalem upon the request of her God. An opportunity to be loyal.
If one prayed for their family to be closer, you think God zaps them with warm, fuzzy feelings? Or does he give them opportunities to love each other? Take the story of Abraham (Ibrahim AS) he had to leave his new born son and her wife in the middle of a desert, he did that upon the request of God. She had the courage to stay in a barren dessert alone with an infant while her husband strove to fulfill the command of his Lord. Mutual understandment between them and opportunity to love each other. Understood? ‘Opportunity’
These stories of our noble forefathers are not just histories, they are lessons. We have to understand them in a broad context. Think, don’t just read. These stories are filled with lessons and mysteries. Understand God and his wisdom. human needs to understand his Lord completely and truthfully. The road is simple for those who learn and act with what they learned. However, it is hard for those who are ignorant.
