Sri Lanka to grow the tallest vertical garden (Read here : http://www.info-link.ca/showcase/sri-lanka-home-to-worlds-largest-vertical-garden/), but the country has the lowest university intake in the world and this country is long known to the world as ‘Institutional Discriminating Racist entity’ where Tamil and Muslim students are barred from entering universities. Masses across the Island are up against the continued political exploitation and bloody authoritarianism by the Rajapaksa oligarchy. Change has become most undesirable and contested paradigm in Sri Lanka. Sri Lankans live in conflicting time zones and their mutually complemented fear keeps them apart, being unable to find a suitable meeting ground of minds and aspirations.
Sri Lankans are smart-working and highly educated masses across Asia which has the highest literacy rate in South Asia which is around 95% and the adult literacy rate has rocked to a mammoth rate of 98%. for this reason Sri Lankans students who fail their higher secondaries are admitted to any foreign university without even considering the marks and performance, because our higher secondary education is equivalent to the higher university education systems of many South Asian, commonwealth and Afro-American standards. The country has also produced some of the finest scientists that around 263 scientist among 2400 working in NASA are Sri Lankans. (http://www.sundaytimes.lk/070715/FinancialTimes/ft312.html)
Sri Lankan education system is also considered to be one of the toughest system across the globe which is only second to South Korean educational criteria. Just two years after the war Sri Lankan economy reached a 9% growth and Colombo Stock Exchange became the highest performing stock market in the world.
So what really went wrong? bad governance, poor higher education system and extremism has an answer for this. Certain forms of modern life lead directly to degeneration, in the poor as well the rich, leisure engenders degeneration. Cinemas, concerts, Casinos are no substitute for intelligent work. This is where the regime spends Billion of dollars. We are far from having solved this momentous problem of idleness created by prosperity and modern machinery. By imposing leisure upon man, this civilisation has brought him great misfortune. We are incapable of fighting the consequences of indolence and irresponsibility as cancer and mental diseases, after all the purpose of civilization is not the progress of skylines, casinos and prostitution but the progress of man, Science, Machinery and Softwares, the super powers of the world.
Opportunism is the hallmark of the 21st century smart moderate Sri Lankan capable of consuming bread and butter without much effort. Building palaces and verticle gardens on skyscrapers does not facilitate human progress.
The world is changing but not fast enough for the authoritarian rajapaksa rulers – fattish fed by the blood revenues and stupid and mindless in thoughts and behaviours if you view them in the real world of political actions and prevalent deplorable atrocities imposed on the Sri Lankan people, specially against the Tamils and Muslims.
The affluent and casino enriched indulged in conspiracy to assume power and institutionalise corruption simply to maintain few Rajapaksa Oligarchy powerhouses. The problem was well defined by Shakespeare “the destiny of peoples coincided with the destiny of their monarch and nobles.” The knowledge-based, information age has dismantled some of the illusory borders and demarcation of nobilities and has challenged to bridge the conflicting time zones between the Temple tree (The official house of Rajapaksa) and the people with the internet, mobiles, facebook, twitter and instant communication technologies.
It is clear that undeserving stolen wealth and illegitimate power associated with Rajapaksa governance have removed sense of fear and shame to the extent that over several decades of cruelty and civil war has embolden the Rajapaksa Rulers to commit any crimes, bloodbaths and rob the people of their originality of thinking, values and culture. Would the future generations free of the secular captivity hold these monsters accountable for their vicious crimes and political cruelty?
Foreign medias report more than sixty thousand civilians having been gunned down in cold blood murdered in various parts of Northern and Eastern Sri Lanka during the last 3 years of war. thousands more Muslims in the east, few hundred of Muslim properties, Worshiping places, and honour has been razed down to earth in various parts of Sri Lanka. Millions have become homeless and refugees in their own backyard in Tamil dominated North and Muslim Dominated east where the war took place. Million or so fled to India, Australia, Italy and Canada in fishing trawlers.
Do any of the Rajapaksas realise the plights, pains and sufferings of these innocent minority people? If not, why not? How would Rajapaksas compensate the innocent people targeted by their guns and bullets? How would they return the time, opportunities and wealth stolen from the people?
Do these Rajapaksas have any moral and intellectual capacity to extend security and sense of protection to the helpless minority Muslim and Tamil people?
The coward and sadistic Rajapaksa tyrants preoccupied with their greed and need are crossing the limits of the Laws of the Nature in killing the innocent masses, kidnapping journalists and political activists in white vans, burning down Media cooperations just because they demands rights, human dignity and a voice to reason the unreason. Time and history are not on the side of the besieged rulers doomed to be crushed by the power of REASON and political imagination of the people.
It’s Time To Wake Up and Resist!
